This is a 3D printed towline reel for the FAC Scale Glider event. That event calls for the flier to stand in one place while pulling the glider up using a reel. This is not for the Hi-Start option where the model is pulled up using a stretched length of 1/16" rubber. This reel has a 10:1 ratio and will wind in 94 inches of towline per revolution of the hand crank. The reel has been updated to incorporate backlash prevention and a 3D printed line guide rather than the original bent piano wire guide.
Provided here are the .stl files for 3D printing the parts and an assembly guide. They reflect the most current version that includes backlash prevention.
