This is a half size version of Henry Struck's 1941 Wakefield model called the Flying Cloud. The half size version was developed for the Flying Aces Club Half Wake event. That event requires the models to weigh a minimum of one ounce (28.34 grams) without any rubber installed. The model in the photo required .5 grams of ballast to be added to meet the minimum weight requirement. The model in the photo is using the 7.5" 3D printed prop found in the 3D printed prop section of the Free Flight downloadable plans page. The plan also shows a blank for carving a balsa prop. The model in the photo is set up with a viscous timer actuated DT system. The viscous timer came from Volare Products. The model in the photo is covered with inkjet printed tissue.
