This is a 24" span version of the 32" span Skipper that appeared in the July 1958 issue of Flying Models. This reduced size version retains the structural layout of the original with reduced material thicknesses in appropriate areas. The photos show the model with a 3D printed folding prop. That prop did not perform at the desired level and has been replaced with a fixed blade free wheeling 9" prop. The reduced size Skipper is intended for sport flying and offers nice performance in that venue.
Provided here are the CAD drawn plan in tiled format for printing on U.S. legal size paper and an assembly guide for printing on U.S. letter size paper. Also provided is a 3D print file for the spinner (works with the 3D printed propellers offered from this site), and a 3D print file for the nose block.
